In a struggle to create artful images I am finding it quite entertaining at times to produce a real Kitsch, the kind of creation with little or no art value, yet something that delights a lot of people with an easy to please tastes. Hence the idea of the 'Surbiton Semis Kitsch' series - sort of London Suburban Fireplace Pelmet Kitsch - pictures to complement colourful knitted Tea-cosies, collections of royal wedding nicknacks and porcelain leaping deers. In the process I asked myself where do 'we' lay the crossing line between Art and Kitsch. How do YOU define the kitsch in photography?
