Charis Wilson Obituary

All models - here is a person to aspire to. The creative partner of Edward Weston. Interestingly I read this in The Economist.

I remember reading an interview with Charis Wilson, just a couple of years ago, a wonderful woman. At the time I was shooting a model who wanted some nudes and had pointed me to a Ed Weston picture of Cara as being close to the style she wanted. The model was certainly surprised to learn that despite the picture being from the 30's the model was still alive.
Interestly, I think one of the reasons she left Ed Weston was that he too single minded about his photography.

im not really sure what exactly in the story is to be aspired to, but it does make for interesting reading all the same.

I saw it as a model who was truly a collaborator rather than a subject - and did so with one of the greatest photographers of our time.
