| Answer | What are the site rules?
Site Rules Code of Conduct. - Revised 11-08-2009 - Appended: 28-09-2009
1.You may only upload, post or link to your own work. If you are not the copyright holder you must have permission to post it. Alterations of a copyright image is allowable only with the copyright holder's permission.
Linking in from your own work or work that you have permission to use, that is on-line elsewhere for critique or discussion is permitted.
1a. Exception: Linking to or embedding images that are not your own or that you don't have permission to use, from outside of UKPM into the forums should be for information gathering, illustration, or to show examples only, critique should not be given.
2. No Porn - this is a photography / modelling site not a porn site. Images showing detail of genitalia (male or female) will be removed without notice. Art nude images will be judged on merit by the moderators. Forum posts requesting or offering pornographic work will be removed without notice. Repeat offenders will be denied access to the site.
3. Images depicting sexual intercourse or masturbation, either real or simulated are not permitted. Images that show the touching of genitalia will be removed without notice. As above repeat offenders will be denied access to the site.
4. The posting of, or linking to, suggestive images or images containing nudity (implied, under sheer clothing, or actual) of subjects under 18 or apparently under 18 years of age is strictly forbidden. Images that fall into this category will be removed and the posters account may be suspended.
5. No advertising work for models who must email images to the poster, another website, or to a third party.
6. NO spamming.
7. There is a NO name and shame policy on this site, which will be rigorously enforced. We have no way of knowing who is right and who is wrong, so we don't want to be involved in such personal matters.
8. Complaints should be directed to a Moderator or Administrator for investigation. If upheld the appropriate action will be taken immediately.
9. Complaints about Moderator action should be directed to an Administrator. Arguing with the Moderators will not be tolerated, they have a difficult enough job as it is.
10. Members who do not upload images for an extended period of time will have their accounts suspended. We like members to be active participants, please share your new work with us. Inactive accounts will be deleted after a period of inactivity. New accounts have 10 days after approval to upload images before being deleted.
11. Website links in personal profiles must NOT point to private bebo, myspace, facebook or other similar sites. If it cannot be viewed without signing up to a third-party site it will be removed.
12. Members who do not complete ALL of their profile details may have their accounts suspended. We like to know who you are before we work with you.
13. No Flaming - you can disagree with people, just like real life, but baiting, trolling, flaming will result in an immediate ban. Please play nice.
14. Consistently argumentative / abusive members will be suspended. See rules 8 & 9.
15. The comments system should be used for positive and limited constructive feedback - this is not a critique site. There is however a critique section - therefore if someone should ask for a critique on their work, then please be constructive, critiques along the lines of 'that's crap', 'that's awful' without a good explanation will be deleted.
Critique of non UKPM members should not be asked for or given.
16. Non-model images, e.g. wildlife, plant-life, automotive, aircraft etc are not generally permitted, and will probably be removed. Landscapes are permitted. We like landscapes. If you are just getting started we'll let you upload examples of your non-model work and let it remain for 4 weeks. If you don't upload model images after this we will suspend your account.
17. Soliciting business not directly connected with photography, modelling, or makeup artistry is not permitted.
18. Links to Adult content sites (See rule #2.), pay sites or sites that require the use of a premium text/phone service are not permitted.
18a. Forum threads or posts requesting "vote for me" are not permitted and may be removed without notice.
19. Membership by non-photographic commercial concerns or companies is not permitted. We're really here to support individuals.
20. Membership by modelling agents or agencies is not generally permitted. Again, we're here to support individuals, not agencies.
21. Personal issues should, as a rule, NOT be discussed in the forums. Such posts may be deleted. Persistent offenders may have their accounts suspended.
22. Personal phone numbers or addresses may NOT be posted. Posting personal details on the internet isn't sensible. Please be safe.
23. This site is aimed at UK residents (with a few exceptions), and is intended to be a meeting place for like minded individuals in the UK to swap ideas, chat and possibly arrange to work together. Memberships from out with the UK are therefore not generally permitted. If you are travelling to the UK and wish to set up a profile you MUST state this in your sign-up with a proposed date or it will be removed.
24. Looking For Work threads are allowed in the LFW forum only. Replies to these threads should be regarding the offer and all other responses will be removed (eg general chat).
When posting to seek work, you must have at least 3-4 examples of your work in a UKPM gallery, if you do not have any examples to show, your post may be removed.
Asking people to find examples of your work elsewhere is not acceptable.
25. Photos of babies/children not generally permitted, as they are not suitable in a gallery containing many glamour and nude photos.
Images posted in a forum thread are permitted.
26. Site Admin reserve the right to amend or append these rules at any time.
| | What is the Complaints Process?
Complaints Process
To clarify what to do if you think someone has broken the rules, have a complaint to make or wish to appeal a moderation decision:
1. You must contact a moderator or admin privately. Public complaints will be deleted.
2. You must provide evidence of your complaint where appropriate (eg copy and paste post or message details)
3. Your complaint will be investigated and action taken if necessary.
We DO NOT get involved in personal disputes. If you have concerns about the actions of a member of the site you can run it past us, but we may not be able to get involved. If you are being harassed via PM for example we can help. If someone didn't pay you for a shoot we can't.
| | What is the Disciplinary Process?
Disciplinary Process
If action has to be taken against a user it will take the following form:
1. An official written warning will be given via Private Message detailing the behaviour concerned with a request to desist.
2. If written warning is not effective the offending account will be suspended. The period of suspension will be specified and will reflect the severity of the offence.
3. If a member has been subject to steps 1 & 2 on more than one occasion they will be deleted and denied future access to the site.
4. Stage 1 and 2 of the disciplinary process will have an active period of 6 months, after this time the level of the disciplinary process will be deemed as spent and the offender will revert to the previous stage.
Stage 3, permanent banning, will not carry a redemption period. Banned members may appeal to the site admin after a period of one year and request to open a new account.
For example if you have had an official warning and have not re-offended in 6 months, you will revert to a no offences status.
If you have had a suspension, you must keep a clean sheet for the remainder of the 6 month period after your suspension is lifted before your status reverts back to stage 1, a further 6 months of keeping a clean sheet and your status will revert back to a no offences status.
In extreme circumstances the Moderators may proceed directly to account suspension or deletion. The decisions of the Moderators are final.
Moderation decisions are discussed as a team. If you wish to complain do so via PM or email to Admin.
